Its good to go home

I have been home for two weeks now for Christmas Break, and I am ready to go back to Rexburg! But, its nice to go home once in a while to see that many things don't ever change. Like downtown. Yesterday I went with my two sisters, nieces and nephew to go feed the ducks in downtown Spokane after we rode the giant red wagon. Then we rode the carousel which was so much fun.
Here are some IPOD pics:)

 The ducks really liked us!

Spokane never changes, these blocks have been here since... forever:)

Things to be happy about:)
  • family
  • my testimony of Jesus Christ
  • new music... free new music
  • outdoors
  • fresh starts. i could really use one right now
  • job opportunities!!!

Exercise... Its good for ya:D

So this past weekend I went to Jackson Hole WY through the BYU-Idaho Outdoor Activities Group. Super fun! I kind of spontaneously decided I wanted to go rock climbing, so I signed up the night before. After I got there I realized I was crashing a serious manfest. Out of 12 people, there was me and one other girl. And she didn't talk to me at all. So yeah, lots of boys. And they all sounded like they knew what they were doing, which scared me a bit because I have only gone a few times.
It was just under 2 hours to drive to Jackson, and the drive was beautiful.
It was also lots of fun to talk with the guys in the car. I found out that Kevin is my musical soul mate. I love his music! But, by the time we go to the gym, I decided he was a bit obnoxious. He dragged me to all the walls he climbed and talked about how difficult they were to climb... ya de ya da.
But, the rest of it was really nice and fun because I kept getting the guys walking up to me and offering to belay me. Really nice, but nerve racking at the same time. Because they are on the floor and they can stare up at me and wham, my butt is in their face.  I have a big butt. My dad likes to call me "Tex" because my butt is the size of Texas (one of the biggest states in the U.S). So they aren't actually looking at me from my best angle. Whatever, I guess I am not looking for a boyfriend right now anyways:D
Jacob was a lot of fun to watch as he climbed this beast. He eventually made it all the way to the top!
Ben told me he had never rock climbed before. He was really good!

Then when we got back to Rexburg there was a beautiful sunset:)

Basically, this weekend was pretty awesome. I am genuinely really happy with life right now.( Except that it was -3 when I walked to my 9 o'clock class this morning)

Things to be happy about:D

i love fridays

yesterday was a great day! to start off with, my one and only class was cancelled, so that was pretty nice. i went to the temple with my good friend tori howell. i love this girl! she is one of the sweetest people i know, always doing the nice thing. and it doesn't hurt that she loves prison break and friends just as much as i do! this picture is from last semester, because we forgot to take one at the temple.

so, anyways, we went to the temple. it was so great! we made it a goal to go every friday morning now. it is just so pretty there! and it just makes you reevaluate your life  plans/goals. what do i really want in life? what am i currently doing to achieve those goals? it just made things stay in perspective.

and then after the temple we went to ramirez for breakfast burritos. it was delicious!
then i did homework for a few hours and got some very important assignments done. so that was a good feeling. later that night, i went to a dance party in the hemming village basement with my friend hannah from my sped class. it was so much fun! it was really hot though, that was kind of gross. overall it was a great day(:

THINGS TO BE HAPPY ABOUT:
  • exercise. tis good for the body
  • people noticing you have lost weight from said exercise'
  • awesome FHE brothers who randomly stop by
  • FRIENDS~ makes me laugh every time i watch an episode
  •  blue raspberry frooties~ they are so delicious

I need a hero

So last night I went to see the new version of Footloose with my good friend Tori.I loved it so much!!!  I love this song that goes with it
Some of my favorite part of the lyrics:

Isn't there a white knight
Upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and turn
And dream of what I need

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero till the end of the night
He's gotta be strong, he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero till the morning light
He's gotta be sure, he's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life, larger than life

Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasies
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There's someone reaching back for me

Racing on the thunder
And rising with the heat
Isn't there a Superman
To sweep me off my feet?

Through the wind and then the chill and the rain
And the storm and the raging flood
Oh, his approaches like a fire in my blood

I'll meet a hero
And then we'll dance till the morning light
Dreaming, he will lead me
Held tight, tonight's the night

So, I loved the whole thing but one of my favorite parts was when Ren McCormack saw Ariel Moore in her dress, he just stopped and stared for a minute because he was in awe. I know this is just me being super sappy, but I just loved it;) Watch the movie sometime, you will not be disappointed

BEAUTY REDEFINED.

So I found this website/blog that I absolutely and then I found this amazing song that just love.
Take back what we let fade away
Voice of tomorrow, not product of yesterday
And once you feel it, you will never be the same
All that we can do is strut, now make it loud
Toss passion to the proud whose views are simply misaligned
Ask the brave: “Step forward help to straighten
all that’s been misshapen, torn and barely left alive”
We need beauty redefined
You’re captivating, don’t be captive to the lies
That just erasing is a picturesque disguise
I dare you look up and try to mold the skies
All that we can do is strut, now make it loud
Toss passion to the proud whose views are simply misaligned
Ask the brave: “step forward help to straighten
All that’s been misshapen, torn and barely left alive”
We need beauty redefined
Make up your mind and not your face
We all know it is a happier chase
And in the end you’ll finish out the race
All that we can do is strut, now make it loud
Toss passion to the proud whose views are simply misaligned
Ask the brave: “Step forward help to straighten
All that’s been misshapen, torn and barely left alive”
All that we can do is strut, now make it loud
Toss passion to the proud whose views are simply misaligned
Ask the brave: “Step forward help to straighten
All that’s been misshapen, torn and barely left alive”
We need beauty redefined
In my Philosophies of Education class we discussed social reconstruction and that has to do with bettering society and the world. Remember what you are here on this earth for- to help change the earth!

Rain. Rain. Rain

My body feels so great! It has been a while since I really worked my body. I saw the rain outside and my leg muscles were just itching to go for a run so.... I did! It felt so great. There was well, a lot of rain as you can see. I ran a couple miles and my lungs and legs felt it. I love it!
So you cannot see it really well, but the dark part of my legs were bright red in real life! My legs got pretty cold on my run, but it felt fantastic(:
Things to be happy about [:
  • Different Seasons
  • People noticing you smell nice
  • Board Games. Simple way to entertain you
  • Gilmore Girls
  • I MIGHT get to nanny in D.C- we will see what pans out!
  • Prayer- remember you are never alone!
  • Changing colors of fall
  • Crispy leaves on the sidewalk
  • Pea-coats & Scarves & Rain boots

Apology to my Body

So, I like to read Nat-the-Fat-Rat  (Mormon Housewife) and she had this old entry that I really liked. It links to this one as well. All about loving your body, and apologizing for mistreating it. My turn!

Dear Body:

  • Natural Brown Hair: I am sorry for hating you and feeling so plain next to blondies.
  • Ears: I am sorry for the profanity you listen to at work and never say anything
  • Mouth: I am sorry for not always flossing my teeth or using mouth wash at night
  • Knees: I am so sorry for all the pain I put you through in high school! I have since decided it was not worth it
  • I am sorry for not always giving you sufficient sleep at night
  • Brain: I am sorry for all the negative thoughts I keep stored in my brain. What a waste of space!
  • Feet: I am sorry for hating how wide you are. You are stable and you help me get to where I need to be.
  • I am sorry for sometimes intentionally scraping you or cutting you. You don't deserve it!
  • Tummy: You actually are fairly proportionate for your body. I am sorry for being upset with you. I will go to the gym more and so you can feel the burn!

Love, Molly

SNOW

So this is a little late because my computer wasn't cooperating the day it actually snowed. But I did take this from my window. I am actually kind of excited for winter. I love wearing scarves and hats and my pea coats. I love the look of perfect, unbroken snow. Snow angels, snow pranks, hot chocolate, spiced cider, and Christmas is on the way!

New Philosophy of Life

So I stole this from my cousin, but I really like it :D
"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regret. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't, and believe that everything happens for reason.  If you get a chance, take it.  IF it changes your life, let it!"
I think a lot of the "life is too short quotes are pretty cheesy but the rest of it I love! If you have someone toxic in your life who makes you feel not-so-good about yourself, just don't put yourself in that position! And make sure you are treating people right who care about you. You don't want to take them for granted... Remember that EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON! Even the cruddy nights. They are there for a purpose. So don't stress too much. You can get over it.
Random Side Tangent~
Tonight I have been listening to all sorts of country as I did my homework. The one that was my favorite is a toss up between "dirt road anthem" by Jason Aldean. I am just feeling my roots come out . I think its because this past weekend we drove through Ashton Idaho and that is country! I just love the feel of the country. It is peaceful and tranquil and you can really think. I miss this place! I don't want to live there when I am older, but it is good to reminisce(:

Girls Weekend

This weekend my roommates and I went on a road trip!Friday night we spent the night out at Kara and Mallory's family's beautiful cabin out in Ashton Idaho. It was so much fun. There cabin was so peaceful! It was not crowded with people like Rexburg, so it was a nice change.

What is a girls night without junk food? We stopped at the gas station close to the cabin to buy drinks and to rent THOR. I bought a 54 oz soda and finished  almost all of it. YUM. While we were at the gas station, Michelle spilled her soda on her white shirt, and so Elicia used Mallory's brand new tide-to-go stain remover to get it out. It was pretty funny to watch.
We spent the night first watching THOR- I know this is shallow, but he is a beautiful man. We then watched a couple of episodes of Season 3 of Gilmore Girls. (Rory is starting to like Jess and she will break up with Dean soon! )Every 25 minutes or so Elicia would get up and swat the TV in an effort to stop the flies from flying on the TV. She was apparently rather successful...

Saturday morning we woke up and watched Gilmore Girls some more as we ate biscuits and gravy! It was so yummy and filling. Then we loaded up the car and drove to Yellowstone! On the way we rocked out to Owl City and Glee. When we got there, we crammed 6 of us into a 5 person car. Kara got in first. (We of course concealed her before we drove past the gate)

We drove for several hours and the animals were pretty scarce. But eventually, we saw some pretty cool animals! We also saw many rivers and waterfalls!

Overall it was a great day! We then wandered around the shops and then I started feeling sick so I went back to the hotel while the rest of the girls shopped. Then we watched Fried Green Tomatoes which did not help with my hormones already out of whack! Then we watched Storm Chasers (they chase tornadoes) for a couple of hours, which was like running a rerun over and over again. But in a good way(:
It was a great weekend to spend with the roommates!

Let the Saints remember that great things depend

on their individual exertion, and that they are

called to be co-workers with us and the Holy

Spirit in accomplishing the great work of the

last days; and in consideration of the extent, the blessings and

glories of the same, let every selfish feeling be not only buried,

but

annihilated; and let love to God and man predominate, and reign

triumphant in every mind, that their hearts may become like unto

Enoch's of old, and comprehend all things, present, past and

future, and come behind in no gift, waiting for the coming of the

Lord Jesus Christ. (HC 4:230-31)

I love weekends

Ty is the closest in age to me,so I love talking to him. Aaaand, he brought me back something cool! A scripture case made out of zebra and elephant and ostrich. It's pretty cool. And this cool bracelet. It looks like something you could buy at the fair for a dollar. BUT its not! Its from Africa! On Friday Ty and I went to go visit the new Freeman High School. Its so big and new and different!

Last weekend I went home because Ty just got home from his mission in ... ZIMBABWE!!!So, I got out of class at 12:30 on Thursday and then I drove like a speed demon home. I made it in 6.5 hours, a personal best;) Ty is all tan and tall and he has this funny accent. It was so good to see him.
Somewhere on his mission(:
On Friday Ty and I went to go visit the new Freeman High School. Its so big and new and different! This isn't a very good picture.  Freeman is all scary and big and fancy and stuff. Plus I don't know half of the teachers now. Its a little weird growing up...
And then on Saturday night, a bunch of us went to my Grandma Hanford's for her birfday. She will always share a birfday with my nephew Connor. It was nice. I don't every eat KFC unless I am at my Grandma's house for her birthday. My teeth hurt really bad because I just had my braces tightened. So I had plenty of biscuits and gravy. Yummy!
Ty's homecoming was amazing. Lots of people came, and Ty gave an amazing talk. Then John and I left after sacrament and headed back to R-town. It took us a while because of all the cops. All in all I did not get back to my apt until 1 and then I went to bed around 6. Drinking 44 oz of Diet Coke was not so great of an idea. So then I woke up for my 9 o clock class and then went to bed early the next night(:

THINGS TO BE HAPPY ABOUT~
  • Ty is home and he still likes me!
  • My car is functioning as it should
  • A major project is finished for a class
  • I am going to Yellowstone this  weekend with my roommates
  • General Conference is this weekend- I need some inspiration
  • Comfy shorts

FRIENDS (:

Friendship can be found in times you least expect it from the people you would never believe possible.  this is simply achieved by six simple words that you might recognize...
say what you need to say.
It never fails..
So say what you need to say,
even when your hands are shaking,
even when your faith is broken,
do it with a heart wide open,
and say what you need to say.

Sometimes all it takes is one conversation to change your relationship with someone for always and ever....

Septemberrrrrr

So its been a while....
But I have been really busy. Harvest is over(for me at least!) And I am kind of missing
seeing all the tandems, smiling at all the drivers, and driving past wheat and barley fields. But September is here!

With it is a promise of a good semester. I am excited for my classes, most of
seem pretty interesting. My Humanities class as well as my Climate Change class are not super interesting, but I am required to take them and my professors are pretty cool. I really like my international class, which focuses on Pakistan. I really don't know very much about the Middle East and I am excited to learn more. However, I can tell I will keep busy this semester with my classes. Most of them are only 2 credit classes, but my teachers seem to think they are 3!
My roommates are all sweethearts, I love them all. 4 of them have already roomed together for a while, and 2 of them are sisters, so everyone is just really easy going about stuff, and everyone is willing to chip in where needed. I am so glad because I had a bit of a rough semester before.
I am taking some Education classes, and that is probably one of my favorites. I guess that is a good thing because that is my major(: I am excited about my Special Ed class, not so much my ED 200 class. But, again, the teacher is pretty cool.

THINGS TO BE HAPPY ABOUT:
  • Roommates
  • Good Teachers
  • Ty gets home in a week!!!!
  • My computer is working again
  • I attend BYU-Idaho
  • Priesthood blessings
  • Cousins(:

Confidence!!!

So, for the past two Saturday nights, I went salsa dancing with some friends. It has been sooo much fun! The first night I went with Kate and I was terrified to go. Because Kate has been dancing for atLEAST ten years, or something like that. So, let's just say I was a leeetle bit intimidated. But then I got there, and a bunch of people didn't know what they were doing, any more than I did. And then Matt danced with  me, and helped me learn how to dip! It was so much fun. I wanted to give up because I never got it right, but Matt made me keep trying. I was really glad, because he made me practice until I got it down.
I learned dancing is all about confidence. Just let go of your mind and your thinking, and just move your body like nobody is watching you. I am a very self conscious person, and so I was very aware of everyone in the room. I just love it though! I am getting better at following the  guy if the guy is good, and then if the guy is not good, then I do not feel like such a dork.  Just move your hips, and then you look legit(:

Side rant: So when I went dancing, I met this dude named Oliver. He is a recent convert. When I say recent, I mean like baptized 2 weeks ago. I guess he met some LDS people at work, was invited to go to church and wammo, he wanted to be baptized. I need to put myself out there, because who am I to judge who deserves to hear the gospel? A lot of times I am too chicken to bring up the church because I am scared of a negative reaction. But, who knows? Something great good happen, like a really good person getting baptized?

Things to be happy about:
  • Ty is home in LESS THAN A MONTH
  • I stood up for myself at work yesterday, and today Dale did not talk to me ONCE! It was wonderful
  • I have a job
  • I get to see my old roomates in 2 weeks!!!!
  • I can feel my teeth moving, so I know my brace face is worth something!
  • Plumbing. I know it sounds strange, but I think I took being able to take a shower every night for granted

My Nieces are So Adorable

I told them to give each other squeezies(: Sisterly love

So, I took these pictures forever ago, but I haven't been on the computer in a long time. They are so cute though! Later that day, we walked to Grandma's house.

Happy Summer Days

So, I have been pretty busy. In fact, I was home for about 10 minutes this whole weekend. But, that is okay because life was pretty good. Friday at work was fun. We drove to Spokane twice, so that ate up some time. We also got to stop by Franz and bought those pie things that are reaallly bad for you. I bought the chocolate pudding things, and they are like 560 calories, in ONE. But, hey sometimes you have to have a treat. It was fun to go. Erin, Jessica and I decided that we are going to go to the lake this next weekend, so that was fun to plan. After work, I got to take a shower, and then Sonia picked me up. Sonia was a good friend of mine in high school, and I always thought she lived super far away. Negatory. She aaactually lives about 10 miles away, which made my day. So, we went to go see Crazy Stupid Love on Friday night. Awful horrible movie. I do not recommend it AT ALL. So, we actually walked out of the movie. It was still pretty late when we got home, so we went to bed. I just love Sonia's house. Its like a legit farm house, down to the old wooden floors. I loved it. So, when we woke up we had farm fresh eggs and sausage for breakfast and then Sonia made the dark chocolate brownies we were supposed to have made the night before. So, then I had brownies and ice cream for breakfast. I swear, junk food tastes so much better when you have it for breakfast. Then we watched The Eagle. It was pretty good. It had Channing Tatum in it, so I was game:) Then I had to go home. I was home for a few minutes and then I babysat for my brother John and Emily so they could go to the temple. Then I went up to Spokane to watch Abby's kids so she could go to her 10 year class reunion. Man she's old... Just kidding Abby! So, I was so beat from the whole week and having not caught up my sleep, I passed out before Abby came home. I knew I would have fallen asleep if I tried to sleep so I spent the night at Abby's. It was good to catch up, because I feel like I haven't talked to Abby in forever. So, then I slept in Sunday morning and went on a walk with Abby and the girls. Then I did the girl's hair for church and got myself ready then went to Singles Ward. I was in kind of a bad mood all during church today, so I won't linger on that... I don't really like dwelling on unpleasant feelings.
Anyways, after church I went to go see my Grandma who I really don't see very often. So, it was good to catch up with her. Then we had dinner, which was this slightly spicy chicken which was pretty good. I love being at home and eating good food on Sunday. Then, I went over to my other Grandma's and got to see some cousins that I have not seen in a long time. I made plans to go the Davenport with them, and I am pretty stoked because the Davenport is soooo pretty.  So, yeah its been pretty awesome. I have to go to bed now because I have to be at work at 6 AM tomorrow. I don't do so well in the mornings... Wish me luck
Things to be happy about [<3]

  • that wonderful smell you only smell in the country in the summertime

Taco Bell, Slushies, Volleyball and Scary Things....

DO ONE THING A DAY THAT SCARES YOU~
A good quote for trying to live the most of life. I will explain more later. So, yesterday was awesome. Work passed by surprisingly quickly, considering it was Monday. We had to sweep out a tank, and we did that first thing before it got super hot. It took a couple of hours, so the morning passed by quickly. After lunch however, it was super yucky. I climbed down into the back pit with Jessica and we knocked down all the dust. Jessica then crawled out of the pit, and lifted open one of the gates. Three dead mice fall out onto the ground in front of me. I don't do mice. They scare me SO MUCH!!!! Dead or alive, they are gross and creepy. So, I may have screeched just a bit. Tammi, Erin, and Jessica come running to me and they all start laughing at me because I am so scared. Well, no one else wanted to come down there with me. So, I had to shovel a lot of dirt and mice. It was awful, and my heart was racing. I kept on thinking that another mouse was going to pop out and run up my leg. So, yeah yesterday I DEFINITELY did something that scared me.

So, then later I drove to Singles Ward Family Home Evening. I am really glad that I went. It was really good. Andrew talked about being prepared. It just kind of put things into perspective. I need to stay on track. I need to keep praying, every single day. I also need to read the scriptures everyday, no matter for how long. The question was asked "What harm would it cause if I skipped one day?" Well, if you skip one day, its that much easier to skip the next day. So, yeah. I am that much more motivated with how I live.

The activity for FHE was sand volleyball at Browns Park. It was so much fun! I met a lot of new people, and I actually played, even though I am really bad. I was very self conscious, but most of the other people weren't any better than me so I felt okay. The boys were all really nice and friendly, which is good for me because I get intimidated really easy with people that are older than me. But, I had so much fun. I was laughing the whole time, everyone was just so funny. And then, after we had played fore a couple of hours, Kate and I went to go get slushies at 7 Eleven. I got Hawaiian Punch and Kate got Melon Berry. They were delicious, it has also been awhile since I had a slushie, so that might have something to do with it(: Afterwards, we went to Taco Bell and went through the drive through. We then sat in the parking lot and just talked. It was really nice to just talk with someone else in the semi-same situation. It was kind of nice to let my feelings out, and voice my fears about the future, and uncertainty about what lies in my future. So, it was nice for some girl talk.

Things to be happy about (:

  • 80's movies- I just watched The Goonies and Overboard. They are awesome ;)
  • Soft Tacos
  • Soft pillows
  • Friends- they make life more durable
  • Temples- they are so pretty to look at

Life is Working Out

So, this is my first blog post. Ever. I do not know exactly what I am doing, but that is okay. So, life is going really good for me right now! I have finally figured out what I want to do with my life. I have decided to go into Special Education, and I am really excited about that path for me. I love working with children. I love watching them play with other children, the satisfying smiles when they accomplish something difficult, and the look on their face when they are trying to sweet talk you into doing something. So, yeah I am really excited about my degree.

I am really thankful for my job that I got while I am at home for seven weeks. I will be working harvest, probably dumping trucks, but I might work the scale. Right now, I am cleaning. Lots of sweeping, scooping, climbing, sweeping and getting reaally dirty. Did I mention I sweep a lot? I am also really thankful that my job is so close to my house, so I do not spend too much money on gas. I like the people I work with. Bill, my boss is super cool. He is really funny actually. Jessica and I had to clean out the boot, which is the only part of the elevator that grain gets wet. Well, wet wheat smells like poop. It really smells awful. I knew I smelled bad, because I was wading through wet grain. Anyways, I was walking past Bill at lunch and he says all quiet-like under his breath to Erin " Hey... do you smell that?" Bill is just so easy going, and for him to actually say something made me smile all day. Bill is just super nice and easy to talk to.

Today Tami, Erin, Jessica and I walked up to Bank of Fairfield today at lunch because they had a customer appreciation lunch. They had hot dogs, chips, potato salad, and ice cream cones. It was delicious. Even better because it was free! Aaand, I was able to deposit some checks into my bank account. It feels great putting money into the bank instead of taking money out. It was also a great day because it wasn't hot, but it was still nice out.

Things to be happy about:

  • Ty is home in less than 8 weeks!!! I am so excited to see him again.
  • Bumble bees
  • Big brothers changing your oil
  • Big Bang Theory Marathons
  • The Book of Mormon
  • Allergy Medicine- Its a lifesaver!
